Pre-Apprenticeship Program
BUILDnBEYOND Hudson Valley-LIUNA is a Comprehensive 200+ hour
Pre-Apprentice Training Program.
- This is a program designed to encourage, develop, and maintain individuals from distressed, communities of color and disadvantaged areas.
- Valuable career-long knowledge instilled; self-management, money management, interpersonal skills, and many more.
- Walk away with various certifications and trade specific training.
TRAINING IS PROVIDED AT NO COST TO THE PARTICIPANTS!
The FUNDING is provided by New York Power Authority

Eligibility Requirements
- Be a Resident of Orange, Ulster, Dutchess & Sullivan Counties
- Capable of performing 8 hours of physical labor each day
- Willing to travel to job sites throughout the Hudson Valley
- Be 18 years or older
- Legally eligible to work in the U.S.
- Possess a High School Diploma, GED, or TASC at the time of application
- Able to pass a drug test
- Be unemployed or have a low-income job
- Able to attend class Monday through Friday, occasionally Saturdays

About BUILDnBEYOND Hudson Valley LIUNA
We recruit from disadvantaged areas across Hudson Valley - those with high unemployment rates and large minority populations - to give underserved populations more opportunities to succeed.
Trainees receive enriching job readiness classes, gain knowledge about the crafts and learn the skills needed to be competitive when applying for a union apprenticeship.
Designed to create new and lasting relationships, contacts, and support systems.
